Jeff McKay brings a well-developed musical and theatrical aesthetic to his film work. He spent his childhood and early adult life in the milieu of professional theatre and spent five years as a drummer in several touring and recording acts. For the last sixteen years he has worked as a director and editor. His work has won awards for both directing and editing including the celebrated Peabody award for his feature documentary Fat Chance.

Other films include And So to Bed, a one-hour documentary on the contemporary culture of the bed: Crapshoot, a multi-award winning one-hour documentary shot in Italy, India, Sweden, the USA and Canada on the subject of sewage: and Haunts of the Black Masseur- the swimmer as Hero, a one-hour documentary based on Charles Sprawson’s book of the same title.

Jeff continues to work in documentary and experimental short film formats. He is fascinated with the unusual in the commonplace and the everyday.
